WELCOME TO
GO HELP YOURSELF
Your Go-To, Self-Help Community to Make Life Suck Less
Whether you’ve binged every self-help book out there, or are just getting started on your journey – Go Help Yourself is your source for calling bullsh*t on toxic positivity, turning your existential dread into actual growth, and getting it together without losing your soul (or sense of humor) in the process.
So you buy the books, you try to build new habits – but if you’re really honest: your self help journey isn’t really…helping.
Self Help Feels Like A Bit Of A Dumpster Fire, Doesn’t It?
The reality is: most people *want* to improve their life – they just don’t know where to start. And unfortunately, it feels like everywhere you turn, you’ve got…
Free advice that’s more confusing than helpful. (And you’ve been down the rabbit hole of “just wake up earlier” and “pound lemon water” TikToks, and it’s not working…).
Therapists who charge more per hour than your first car payment. Love them, but your budget says no…
Coaches who promise you the moon… but none of their “simple and quick” methods actually change your life…

We Make Self-Help Feel Less Like Climbing A Mountain And More Like Walking A Path. Because We Believe That – Even Though Life Is Hard – Personal Development Doesn't Have To Be.
FEATURED BY
Hey! We’re Lisa & Misty, Hosts Of Go Help Yourself & Your New Internet Bffs.
We started Go Help Yourself six years ago with an earnest mission: to use ourselves as guinea pigs as we furthered our own self-help journeys, in order to make personal development more accessible to everyone. Now, more than 300 episodes later, the biggest lesson we’ve learned is that no one does anything alone.
After trying the advice in nearly every book we read, we also realized that self-help isn’t as simple and easy as every author and online “guru” was claiming. In fact, the harder we pulled on that thread, the whole sweater started to unravel…
We wondered: why weren’t the new habits, the positive self-talk, or the productivity methods making a real difference? As we zoomed out and started to look at the systems around us, we realized that the vast majority of self-help leaves the broken systems we live in out of the conversation.
Why does it matter? Because if we can’t see that something is wrong with the systems around us, we can mistakenly think there’s something wrong with us. That’s why we’re so fiercely dedicated to expanding the conversation around wellness and self-help so that you can see the big picture clearly… and with that expanded awareness, make actual, meaningful progress.
