If you find yourself on the receiving end of nosy questions, try these tips:

  1. Remember that you don’t owe anyone an answer.

  2. Tell them you don’t want to talk about it, or let them know you’re uncomfortable discussing it.

  3. Redirect if you want to keep the conversation going. "I don't want to talk about that, but I do want to share this with you..."

  4. Try asking them, “Now why would you ask me that?” or “What are you worried about for me?”

  5. Thank them and let them know you’re doing just fine.

  6. If you decide to answer, be brief.
