This week, Lisa and Misty review The international bestseller The Power of Positive Thinking by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale.
According to the author's page on Amazon.com, Norman Vincent Peale was born in the Ohio hamlet of Bowersville on May 31, 1898, and was the son of a physician turned Methodist minister. He grew up to become the author of 46 books, including the inspirational best seller of all time, The Power of Positive Thinking. He was also a motivational speaker; the co-publisher of the world's leading inspirational magazine, Guideposts; and for 52 years, the beloved pastor of Marble Collegiate Church in New York City.
In 1984 Peale was awarded the Presidential medal of Freedom by Ronald Reagan. Dr. Peale died at his home in Pawling on Christmas Eve, 1993.
